What is the Support at Home Program?

The Support at Home program is the Australian Government’s unified in-home aged care framework designed to help older adults live safely and independently in their own properties. Rolled out to replace the traditional Home Care Packages (HCP) Program and the Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) Programme, it streamlines how care is funded, managed, and delivered. Rather than navigating fragmented legacy systems, participants are assigned a budget across eight distinct funding classifications tailored directly to their physical, cognitive, and clinical requirements. 

The program funds a wide range of daily and clinical supports, including personal care, professional nursing, allied health, domestic assistance, respite care, transport, and meal preparation.
