Sustainability at Chris Barnard Health
ESG Statement
At Chris Barnard Health, sustainability is embedded in how we operate, make decisions and plan for the future. As both a healthcare workforce provider and an approved aged care provider, we recognise that our responsibilities extend beyond service delivery. We are committed to creating positive outcomes for our workforce, clients, communities and the environment while maintaining strong governance and ethical business practices.

Our sustainability framework is guided by the three pillars of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), ensuring that sustainability is considered across all aspects of our operations.
Environment
Chris Barnard Health is committed to reducing its environmental footprint through practical and measurable initiatives that support a more sustainable future.
At our Malvern East head office, we have installed electric vehicle charging stations for staff and visitors, supporting the transition to lower emission transport options. We have also commenced the transition of our vehicle fleet, with a long term commitment to moving towards a fully electric fleet by 2030. This transition is already underway, with vehicles progressively being replaced as part of our sustainability roadmap.
Through Ankoora, our bespoke vendor management system, we have transitioned from paper based processes to digital workforce, compliance and operational management. This initiative has significantly reduced paper consumption and eliminated the need for approximately 250 kilograms of paper annually, while improving operational efficiency and document security.
We have also implemented a range of environmentally responsible practices across our operations, including digital documentation, electronic record keeping, reduced printing, energy conscious office management and sustainable procurement practices where practical.
In addition, Chris Barnard Health partners with REMONDIS to support responsible recycling and waste management practices, ensuring paper, plastics and electronic waste are disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Social
As a healthcare workforce and care provider, our greatest impact is through the people and communities we support.
Chris Barnard Health provides workforce solutions and care services across aged care, hospitals, community care and disability services, helping ensure continuity of care and workforce stability for some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
We are committed to creating safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces where workers are supported, valued and treated fairly. This includes maintaining strong health and safety practices, supporting workforce wellbeing, promoting diversity and inclusion, and ensuring workers have access to meaningful employment opportunities.
Our workforce reflects the diversity of the communities we serve, and we actively promote culturally safe and person centred care. Through strong recruitment, onboarding, training and compliance processes, we ensure our workers are equipped to provide high quality care that respects the individual needs, backgrounds and preferences of clients and residents.
We also maintain a strong focus on ethical employment practices, worker welfare and workforce development, recognising that quality care outcomes are directly linked to a supported and engaged workforce.

Governance
Strong governance is fundamental to responsible healthcare delivery and sustainable business operations.
Chris Barnard Health operates under a governance framework focused on accountability, compliance, risk management, ethical conduct and continuous improvement. Governance oversight is provided by an experienced board and executive leadership team with extensive expertise across healthcare staffing, aged care, community services and workforce management.
Our governance board includes leaders with decades of experience in healthcare recruitment, aged care operations, executive leadership and sector governance. Their collective expertise provides strategic oversight across workforce compliance, ethical labour practices, quality management, risk mitigation and organisational performance.
Governance priorities include regulatory compliance, ethical sourcing and employment practices, workforce screening and credential management, clinical and operational risk management, privacy and data security, incident and complaint management, continuous improvement and transparent reporting.
Through systems such as Ankoora, our bespoke vendor management system, we maintain robust compliance controls, audit readiness and real time visibility across workforce, operational and quality processes.

Our Commitment
Chris Barnard Health views sustainability as an ongoing journey rather than a standalone initiative.
By balancing environmental responsibility, social impact and strong governance, we aim to create long term value for our workforce, clients, communities and the broader healthcare sector while supporting the delivery of safe, high quality care.
Our 2030 Sustainability Direction
Sustainability is an ongoing commitment at Chris Barnard Health. It reflects how we improve our systems, make responsible decisions and create better outcomes for our workforce, clients, communities and the environment.
By 2030, our ambition is to make meaningful progress towards a lower emission operating model. This includes continuing the transition to a more sustainable vehicle fleet, expanding digital systems, reducing paper use, improving workplace efficiency and strengthening environmental responsibility across our business.
We are building on the initiatives already underway, including electric vehicle charging, digital record keeping through Ankoora and responsible recycling through REMONDIS.
Chris Barnard Health is committed to being a trusted healthcare partner today while building a more responsible and sustainable organisation for the future.
